North Yell Development Council

The North Yell Development Council is one of Shetlands oldest and most successful community development organisations.

The North Yell Development Council operates the Garth windfarm. We are also the local anchor organisation for the Carbon Neutral Island project within Yell, CNI is a Scottish Government project committed to achieving carbon neutrality for Yell along with five other islands throughout Scotland by 2040. The North Yell Development Council is committed to its founding principles of Enterprise, Initiative and Self-Help.
