SHEAP is looking for a new Non-Executive Director to join the team and help steer SHEAP confidently into the next phase of its development.

SHEAP are proud to have successfully operated one of the largest district heating schemes in Scotland for over 25 years. District heating networks are now recognised by the Scottish government as a significant asset in the fight against climate change.

SHEAP are owned by Shetland Charitable Trust (SCT) and supply energy at competitive levels to the community while playing a major role in the islands’ waste to energy and recycling strategy. Any excess revenue generated by the company is returned to the SCT to benefit the residents of Shetland.

Non-Executive Directors are compensated by an attendance allowance and expected to attend 8 set meetings per annum as well as participate in additional meetings and email correspondence as required. The appointment is for an initial 3 year period.
Applications are sought from interested individuals in the local community with expertise in any of the following areas: Board Governance, Regulatory Compliance, Energy & Utilities, Engineering, Commercial Operations, Finance & Investment, and Public Services. Prior Board experience is not essential but strong strategic and commercial thinking will be an advantage.
